Interior Design

Interior Design has the ability to change the way a room makes you feel using textures, colours, lighting and layout.

Bathroom Reno

  • Occupancy: Business and personal services occupancies (D)

  • Area: 644 m2

  • Project Type: Team, Conceptual

  • For our bathroom makeover project, we were inspired to create both visually striking and practical spaces. The women's room was designed with ruby tones, while the men's room featured emerald hues. These colors were complemented by glossy tiles, brass accents, and marble details. We wanted to include the importance of inclusivity, and accessibility. As a result, we removed the janitor's closet, expanded the barrier-free stall, and installed touchless fixtures.

Multipurpose Building

  • Occupancy: Care and treatment occupancies (B), Business and personal services occupancies (D), and Mercantile occupancies (E)

  • Area: 3780 m2

  • Project Type: Team, Conceptual

  • For this multipurpose building, we conducted a site analysis and designed a building that aligns with today's market demands. Our vision resulted in a four-story structure featuring a daycare facility, bakery, and laundromat on the ground floor. The second floor is designated for a recreational gym, while the top two floors are dedicated to office spaces. Our aim was to create a multifunctional building, serving as a convenient 'one-stop shop.' Imagine dropping off your children at daycare, grabbing a coffee, and easily transitioning upstairs to your office or the gym facility. At the end of the day, you can conveniently utilize the laundromat for cleaned clothes before heading home.

Farm-to-Table Restaurant

  • Occupancy: Business and personal services occupancies (D)

  • Area: approximately 740 m2

  • Project Type: Individual, Conceptual

  • During my studies at Yorkville University, I worked on a project where we were tasked with designing a restaurant of our choice. I chose to create a farm-to-table style restaurant focused on sustainability and supporting local agriculture. I named the restaurant "Local Roots" to emphasize that all the food would be sourced from nearby farms. My concept featured an open floor plan with plenty of booth seating, giving each table a sense of privacy. I also included a private dining room that could be booked for small gatherings. The bar featured a green marble countertop to add a pop of colour to the design, while the flooring was polished concrete to tie together all the warm wood tones. The materials and colours were carefully chosen to reflect the earthy, farm-inspired theme and create a welcoming, natural atmosphere.

Renewal Health and Mind

  • Occupancy: Business and Personal Services Occupancy (Group B, Division 2)

  • Area: 574 m2

  • Project Type: Individual, Conceptual

  • Year: 2024

  • The design concept for the family doctor and mental health clinic is rooted in renewal through movement, emphasizing flow and flexibility to support both physical and mental recovery. Flooring patterns and colour variations provide intuitive way-finding while balancing durability and aesthetics. Waiting areas feature adaptable seating and convenient amenities to ensure comfort for diverse needs. The zoning plan separates the family doctor’s offices from the holistic mental health clinic, maintaining organization despite spatial challenges.

Retail Store Design

  • Occupancy: Mercantile (M)

  • Area: 315 m2

  • Project Type: Individual, Conceptual

  • Year: 2025

  • This project was conceptual where students selected a retail brand and based on its identity, designed a retail store that reflected the company’s values and overall aesthetic. A key focus was the development of the RCPs, with careful consideration of where light fixtures would be placed and the reasoning behind each selection. For my project, I chose Patagonia, an outdoor clothing company whose brand emphasizes environmental responsibility. Patagonia is dedicated to creating high-quality clothing that lasts a lifetime, reducing waste and keeping products out of landfills. To reflect these values, I selected materials that align with their sustainable outlook, including rustic brick, reclaimed barn wood and raw finishes such as concrete flooring.
